The GRIP Network
The GRIP Initiative is a strategic accelerator to address the international barriers constraining Green Industrial Policy across the Global South. Green industrialisation is essential for climate commitments and inclusive development, yet it is systematically held back by high capital costs, debt burdens, restrictive trade & intellectual property rules, and governance structures that marginalise Southern voices. GRIP intervenes at the political level, reframing green industrial policy not as a risky deviation from global norms, but as a necessary and legitimate response to shared challenges that demands reform of the international rules and institutions that currently obstruct it.
GRIP advances this agenda through three integrated levers: narrative change, coalition-building, and targeted spotlights on key reform moments. Rather than duplicating existing technical work, it shapes the political conditions in which reforms can gain traction. It builds clear framing across finance, trade, and technology transfer debates, connecting policymakers, economists, and civil society leaders anchored in Global South leadership.
Global Public Investment (GPI)
Global Public Investment reimagines international public finance for today’s world. It moves beyond outdated donor–recipient logic to a new model where all contribute, all benefit, and all decide (ABCD). Rooted in fairness and mutual interest, GPI focuses on collective funding of global challenges – from climate to health to persistent inequality – based on countries’ capacity and historic responsibility.
The Global Cooperation Institute leads efforts to develop both the narrative and institutional architecture of GPI, applying it to real-world contexts. We are helping to build a new Government Coalition, a growing group of supportive countries working to champion the GPI approach.
Public GOOD Narrative
The Public Good Narrative project aims to reframe how societies think about public action, accountability and leadership in the 21st century. In an era of growing fragmentation, mistrust, and inequality, the project asserts that the public should be central as we work to respond to national, regional and global challenges, whether in health, climate, or digital and physical infrastructure, or peace.
Led by the Global Cooperation Institute, the initiative works to embed a renewed narrative of public purpose across international institutions, governments, and civil society. It identifies opportunities to align storytelling, funding, and governance in ways that rebuild trust and reshape national progress and global cooperation. Through strategic outreach, research, and coalition-building, it fosters a diverse ecosystem of messengers and allies pushing for a more just and sustainable global order.
Circular Cooperation
Circular Cooperation is a collaborative model of cooperation that emphasizes reciprocal relationships among countries, communities, and stakeholders. It fosters equitable partnerships where all participants, regardless of development status, contribute knowledge, resources, and expertise. This approach promotes mutual learning, enhances local ownership, and ensures that solutions are context-specific. By facilitating knowledge exchange and empowering communities, it aims to create shared benefits, strengthen resilience, and address global challenges through inclusive, participatory development.
The Global Cooperation Institute is leading the development of this new concept, building on complementary triangular and south-south cooperation modalities. We are working particularly with Latin American governments and communities, but will be expanding to work across the world.
